Research Associate II, Protein Sciences

Our mission is to generate novel transformative medicines for the patients that need it most. We are seeking a Research Associate II to join our Protein Sciences team to support production of therapeutic molecules with a focus on cloning and mammalian cell transfections.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Responsible for cloning and mammalian cell expression of various proteins.
Must knowledge of and experience with molecular biology and tissue culture techniques, including transient transfections and stable cell line development
Previous experience with protein purification
Able to participate in a wide range of projects to support the discovery, engineering, small- and large-scale production of biologics.
Collaborate with other team members to meet project timelines and goals.
Maintain excellent electronic lab notebook documentation and support daily lab operations including lab upkeep and equipment maintenance.
Present experimental findings and contribute to scientific discussion at company meetings.
Required Education / Experience and Skills:
B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, cell biology, or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related experience
Experience with basic and modern molecular biology techniques, including DNA construct generation, sequence analysis, cloning, and DNA isolation
Experience with cell culture techniques, handling, maintenance, harvest, freezing, and banking
Knowledge of mammalian expression cell lines, transient and stable transfection techniques
Experience with cell viability and expression titer assessment
Experience with stable cell line or stable pool generation is desirable
Familiarity with protein purification techniques is desirable
Ability to work in a collaborative work environment, assisting with lab maintenance duties
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Accurate record keeping is a must
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is desirable.
Working knowledge of online teleconferencing software (e.g, Zoom or Teams).
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and/or other web-based applications.
Job level will be based on prior experience and accomplishment. The expected base salary range for the Research Associate II role is $83,700 - $102,300.
The above pay range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation is based on various factors, including experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This pay range is for the Bay Area, CA, location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.
